Floating wetland extends the life of wastewater treatment plant
The Shannon wastewater treatment plant, that’s discharge impacts on the Manawatu River, was due for an upgrade. So, we were commissioned to design and construct a floating treatment wetland to be retrofitted to the outlet end of the treatment pond.
Benefits
The floating treatment media option saved the client considerable capital expense. This is because they didn’t need to purchase land for a constructed wetland or, as no earthworks were required to retrofit the system, pay for civil construction.
